Dr. Suresh Alahari of the Lousisiana State University Health Sciences Center, led a research team that has discovered a protein that may suppress the growth of breast cancer, a breakthrough discovery in the battle against breast cancer.

The study discovered that normal breast cancer cells have significantly higher levels of this particular protein and that when the protein is blocked, the researchers discovered cancer tumors grew faster, but when tissue samples were manipulated to overproduce this protein, cancer growth was reduced.

Dennis Woltering sits down with Dr. Suresh Alahari of the LSU Health Sciences Center, to find out more about this discovery, and the implications, for the battle against breast cancer.
