NEW ORLEANS -- As kickoff approached Monday night, the Who Dats tailgated with confidence and style.
"Well, I think we're gonna kick Atlanta's butt, first of all, and my mask is awesome, as you can see,” said one young tailgater.
One man shaved his hair and beard to look like a Saints helmet.
"Oh, I've been doing this since the year of the Super Bowl. We get our haircut. It's how we do it. We love it. I'm losing all my hair, so this is the best I could come up with," he said.
Throughout the day patches of heavy rain forced people to huddle under tents and break out the umbrellas, but the nasty weather didn't slow down the party.
Across the downtown area, Saints fans showed off their own unique tailgating activities, from cooking up dirty bird to leaning on a little voodoo magic.
"Every home game, we decide to put up the Voodoo doll and hopefully, this time, it works,” said one woman. “We just wanted to pluck the dirty birds. Who dat."
With so much riding on this Saints-Falcons matchup, it was a tough ticket.
But many fans say they wouldn't have missed it.
"It's spectacular. This is the best Christmas I've ever had right here,” said one tailgater.
