Students from O. Perry Walker along with representatives of the school, the Tipitinas Foundation and WWL-TV's Eric Paulsen were recognized at Thursday's N.O. City Council meeting by City Council Vice President Jackie Clarkson.
The group recently returned from a trip to Japan where they performed at several concerts and shared cultural experiences, bringing New Orleans music across the globe. WWL will present a story on the trip Friday at 10 p.m. and produce a documentary to air early next year here and on Japan's Sendai TV.
