NEW ORLEANS -- The legend of the John Curtis Christian School football team grows each year.
Since taking over in 1969, head coach J.T. Curtis has lead the Patriots to more than 500 wins and an unprecedented 25 state championships. Needless to say, John Curtis is no stranger to success.
But how do the Patriots maintain their play at an elite level year after year, despite graduations and a changing game? The head coach will be the first to tell you that it all starts with practice.
"We're going to be out here for about 2 hours and 10 minutes today," Curtis said. "And for 2 hours and 10 minutes we're going to be as productive, we're going to be as positive, we're going to get as much accomplished as we can get accomplished in that amount of time.
"I don't want any wasted minutes on the field."
For this week's How It's Done, we take a trip down to River Ridge to see what exactly goes on during those practices that makes John Curtis such a well-tuned powerhouse. Watch the video above for a behind the scenes look.
