NEW ORLEANS - After a driver was fatally shot, he crashed on Interstate-10 early Thursday morning, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
When police received the call around 4:45 a.m., they thought they were responding to a traffic accident under the Broad overpass near the U.S. 90 B split.
Upon arrival, they found a black Infiniti Coupe riddled with bullets and the 31-year-old driver inside dead.
He was shot multiple times and ran his car into the cement barrier on the side of the roadway.
I-10 East was temporarily closed at the I-10/US 90B split. Traffic was diverted at Carrollton Avenue and at 8 a.m., congestion had reached Causeway Boulevard.
