NEW ORLEANS -- Newly elected Councilman James Gray has withdrawn a package of ordinances that would've required tour buses to pay fees to access the Lower Ninth Ward.

The city banned tour buses from the neighborhood after Hurricane Katrina.

The new ordinances would have required companies to pay hundreds of dollars in fees per vehicle, and would have allowed the city to fine vehicles caught in the area without a decal or those that ventured off approved tour routes.

Gray says needs more time to research the issue.
