NEW ORLEANS - The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation is hosting a Hire Our Heroes Job Fair on Thursday.
The event, which is part of Wounded Warrior Weekend, is for veterans and military spouses.
More than 40 employers with over 100 jobs are participating. Veterans service organizations will also be present.
"One of the criteria from the Chamber of Commerce was we don't want people here just to talk about jobs. We want people to give jobs," said Bill Ryan, a local veteran and organizer of Wounded Warrior Weekend.
The job fair runs from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Stage Door Canteen at the National World War II Museum on Magazine Street.
The fair is free and open to the public.
Wounded Warrior Weekend takes place from April 11 through April 14. One of the main objectives of the event is to help military members transition from the service to civilian life.
