NEW ORLEANS -- This weekend festival season gets into full swing with French Quarter Fest, and officials say it'll be the best one yet.
Organizers showed off this year's merchandise Wednesday and announced that Chef John Folse will take part in the world's largest jazz brunch.
They also talked about the major economic impact the event has on the city.
“We find when you take an event like this and you put it in the middle of a neighborhood and make it free and open to the public, a lot of good things happen,” said Marci Schramm, executive director of the French Quarter Fest.
The festival runs from April 11 through April 14, and Channel 4 is a sponsor.
In all, 1,400 local musicians are set to perform.
