A big high pressure dome over the southeast United States will keep things very hot and humid this weekend. We're expecting above-average high temperatures in the middle 90s. Heat index values will soar into the 100-110° range.
It's a good idea to take some heat precautions this weekend, like wearing lightweight and light-colored clothes, drinking lots of water and taking frequent breaks when you're outside.
A few areas will get some relief in the form of an isolated shower or thunderstorm. Any storm that does form could be on the heavy side, but the rain will not be very widespread this weekend.
High pressure will begin to break down early next week. By Tuesday we'll return to slightly higher rain chances, along with closer to average temperatures.
