NEW ORLEANS -- A man from New Orleans spoke at a White House summit looking to find ways to get young people more involved in their communities.
Ryan Dalton is a Cafe Reconcile graduate and front of house manager. He wants to create educational and athletic camps for young people that are also staffed by young people to give them more productive ways to spend their time.
He said he was nervous about the speech, but it was a real thrill to share his story at the White House.
It was an awesome experience,” Dalton said. “I'm not sweating any more, no more goosebumps. It was mindblowing.”
Dalton said he plans to do a little sightseeing before returning to New Orleans to work on his project.
