HARAHAN, La. -- Some local television and sports celebrities teamed up Sunday in a big bowling tournament for a great cause.

It’s the eleventh annual Special Olympics Bowl at Colonial Bowling Lanes in Harahan.

Saints players and other NFL stars, media personalities like our sports director Doug Mouton, and local law enforcers team up with Special Olympics athletes for the tournament.

Some Saints involved tell us it’s always an exciting event, but there's plenty of pressure to compete.

“It’s awesome when you come into an event where it’s a fun time, but they're trying to win just like we're trying to win,” said Saints receiver Lance Moore.

“It’s an amazing experience, coming from where I come from,” said Saints defensive lineman Akiem Hicks.

Proceeds from the tournament and a silent auction go to helping Special Olympics Louisiana.
