As Ida continues to move to the north through the Yucatan Channel, our clouds will slowly increase, but we'll remain rain-free through Sunday morning. During the day on Sunday, expect just a shower or two along with increasing winds, as the Gulf of Mexico begins to open up. The worst of the wind and rain should hold off until Sunday night, Monday, and early Tuesday.
A Coastal Flood Watch remains in effect until Tuesday. Winds will start to increase Sunday and remain up through the middle of next week due to high pressure over the Mid-Atlantic and low pressure in the Gulf. Tides will be much higher than normal causing some flooding, especially across eastern-facing shorelines of St. Bernard, Plaquemines, and the Mississippi Counties.
