A stretch of beautiful weather will continue not only for this afternoon, but for the next several days!  Sunshine, a few fair-weather clouds, and highs in the 70's with comfortably cool mornings will stick around all the way through Saturday.  The Gulf of Mexico will most likely open up for the second half of the weekend and into next week, increasing our rain chances once again.

Tropical Depression #11 has now been upgraded to Tropical Storm Ida.  The storm has winds of 60 mph and is moving to the WNW at 6 mph, most likely making landfall in Nicaragua later on tonight.  The track keeps Ida near the Central American coastline for the next few days, and then slowly brings it toward the Yucatan.  There is still much uncertainty as to the eventual track of this system, but more information will be available on the Eyewitness News at 5 & 6 tonight.
