Doody, Monzon discuss latest hurricane levee protection initiatives

Hurricane season, which starts Sunday, brings some changes to the local levee system which continues to improve after Hurricane Katrina 9-years-ago.

Joining the Eyewitness Morning News to talk about the progress and the priorities for this year is Tim Doody, the President of the East Bank Levee Board - The Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority East, and from the West Bank, John Monzon, Regional Director of the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority - West.

And remember, WWL-TV will have more about levee protection, including comments from the commander of the Corps of Engineers, in our Eye on Hurricanes Special, at 7 p.m., Monday night. The half-hour program will also have the latest forecasts and tips on how to best prepare your family for the coming season.
