Sally-Ann Roberts will be in New York City for the next few weeks to donate bone marrow cells to her sister, Robin Roberts.

Thurday morning, Sally-Ann updated the latest on the donation process on her Facebook page:

Good Morning from New York...Leaving this morning for the clinic for some blood work and to get information about a drug I will be taking for next five days to prepare my bone marrow for the stem cell harve sting next week.

Thanks to everyone for the outpouring of prayers and support for Robin Roberts' recovery and to my WWLTV family thank you for allowing me this time to be here for my sister. I love you all!

The support from viewers has been tremendous, not only on Sally-Ann's Facebook page, but also to posts about the donation process on WWLTV's Facebook page.

On Wednesday, Sally-Ann posted the following on her Facebook page after arriving in New York:

"Well the adventure of healing begins. I am in New York City tonight filled with gratitude for the opportunity to see Robin restored to health. I am grateful for everyone I have met along the journey. Thank you for your prayers and encouraging words. Thanks to everyone who participated in the Perfect Match Donor drives.

I am so grateful to WWL-TV, all of my co-workers, Be the Match and LOPA for all they have done and are doing to encourage people to become organ and bone marrow donors. Thank God for medical advances that are allowing people to be cured of certain cancers and Sickle Cell Anemia through bone marrow transplants.

But it can't happen without donors. I am thankful to my WWL-TV family for allowing me to have the time off so that I can donate to my sister. Tomorrow morning I will go to the clinic for blood work and I will be given medication to take daily for the next five days before my stem cells are harvested. Thank you Jet Blue for a safe trip and a great view. Flying to New York I was spellbound by the majesty of nature. I was reminded of the Source of it all. There was some turbulence on the flight but I wasn't afraid. I trusted the pilot. I am not afraid now. I trust the Pilot."
