NEW ORLEANS - On June 28, as part of our launch of the "Perfect Match" bone marrow registry campaign, we conducted a telethon as an appeal to the New Orleans community to sign up as bone marrow donors.
Manning the phones were city council members, local chefs, business owners and many others.
The response was more than we ever dreamed.
On Tuesday, we were updated by Natalie Rowe from the "Be the Match" registry, which, along with The Blood Center, administered the DNA swab to potential donors.
