NEW ORLEANS - ABC News "Good Morning America" anchor Robin Roberts is set to receive a bone marrow cell transplant from her sister, WWL-TV anchor Sally-Ann Roberts, on Thursday.
On Tuesday, Robin, who will undergo the transplant to battle MDS, or myelodysplastic syndrome, released a statement on her upcoming procedure:
Last Sunday to lift my spirits I threw a little party at my apartment for my “GMA” family. The next morning I walked through the hospital doors, with my guardian angels -- mom & dad -- back together and blazing a trail ahead of me. [Read the rest of her statement.]

Looking forward to returning to New York this week to be with Robin. Thank you for your prayers and positive messages of support through every step of this difficult process. Robin will receive the transfusion of my stem cells this week. Our sister Dorothy and I will be there to hold Robin's hands and pray. We are the sisters three!!!
