Nola's Resilience - On display at 614 Canal St. inside the Lobby Lounge of the JW Marriott - thru August 31.

NOLA's Resilience

NOLA is walking away from a classic New Orleans cemetery. Over her right shoulder is the grave with the date of Hurricane Katrina 8/29/2005 inscribed...over her left shoulder is the grave with the date of the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill 4/20/2010 inscribed…. NOLA has been ravished, tested but is not broken: NOLA's Resilience. She is mourning but still shows strengths and leadership...she will not be denied her happiness.

The veil is made out of a honeycomb to indicate the sweetness and work ethics of Louisianans overcoming the two largest disasters in US History within the last five years. The veil has a missing Fleur-de-Lys (right side of mouth), like a missing men formation executed by airplanes to honor those that have not returned “home”.

NOLA’s Resilience will be auctioned off in order to benefit the following charities:
Tipitina’s Foundation, Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation, Make It Right NOLA,
Sweet Home New Orleans, New Orleans Musician’s Clinic, Working Bikes Coop and
the Children’s Miracle Network or Children Hospital of New Orleans. The auction can
