Well thought I was getting caught in an ordinary summer shower, until it really started pouring, Tchoupitoulas was under water when I got to Napoleon, and as I headed farther Uptown it got deeper. At points it was up to and over truck bumpers coming the other direction. I finally turned on my street, which during the May 5th flood back in the 90's the street almost covered with water, but today it was fully covered in water. I have never seen this neighborhood get this much water the current was swift as the water rushed by, but the drains were not pulling the water down, the fact that the street slopes towards St. Charles is why the water drains from our neighborhood. I hope the pumps kicked on or Langenstein's is in for a flood.
Uptown by Whole Foods, this looks like the May 5th Flood many years ago
