Laura was diagnoised wih cancer a few months prior to Katrina hiting and went through 35 treatments of radiation. She had been a great friend of mine prior but becmme family as I watched her fight a horrible disease without complaining, Katrina hit and she needed continued care and observation, and of course she evacuated with me where we ended up in Jacksonville, Florida, she fought harder than any person I knew and was cured of the cancer only to learn she would have to have a double masectomy and face many other surgeries and without hesitation went through all surgeries with strenght and class, shes nearing 70 and inspires me and has lived with us ever since and has become mom... She is a truly inspiring woman for her fight and the love she shows to everyone she meets and her devotion to her church and friends ....Thats why I nominate her for this ..THANKS Daph
