Currently, there are 4543 children in the State of Louisiana in foster care, 430 are from the Greater New Orleans Region. There are an additional 742 children available for adoption, 74 of these children are from our community(data as of June 6th).
In an attempt to keep up with the demand of children entering foster care, recruitment efforts must go on, and on, and on, and on.... The Department of Children & Family Services will host its 2nd Annual Adoption Day in the Mall to bring awareness to the need for more safe and nurturing homes for children entrusted into our care(see attached flier). Please share the attached flier with family members, friends, church members, neighbors, etc.
Recruitment & Retention are a collaborative effort and a hearty "Thank You" is in order to the GNO/DCFS staff for all of your hard work and support. Your continued support has played a significant role in ongoing recruitment and retention efforts.
