I shot this clip on 8-24-2011 when several strong thunderstorms rolled through Tangipahoa and St. Tammany Parishes around 7 P.M. If you listen closely you can hear the electrical arc, and sizzle of the rain, then the almost instant thunder! You can't get much closer than that. I kept shooting for about another 15 minutes till the storms moved on. This is just one short clip of the closest strike. There were many more.
