Waves crashing at London Canal

Water floods New Orleans Lakefront

Water continues to rise at the New Orleans Lakefront at the park between the London Canal and Bayou St. John outlets. This park lies outside the levee and is a favorite of picnickers, fishermen and dog owners year round. Water reached the base of the levees before receding several feet but is on the rise again with the strong winds that approach 40 mph coming in off the lake.
