On December 10, 2011 around 1:00am there was a lunar halo (around the moon). We did not get to see the eclipse, but we did see this. Because it was so clear and the clouds were so high, the light was bent and reflected and made what appears to be a huge ring around the moon. In New Olreans, that might have been one of the few chances to see it so clearly.
