A few weeks ago, our street in River Ridge looked very much like a river as oppose to a ridge, with kids on kayaks. We figure there are only 2 options when it comes to things outside of your control; ignore or eliminate it, if you can, and incorporate it. Last Friday and Saturday my husband, Darren, decided to incorporate the freezing temperatures to make a nice surprise for our daughter Tiena. By incorporating flowing water, a sprinkler and a tree, he was able to transform a 45 year old Magnolia into an icicle filled site to see. One neighbor donated a Christmas tree to add to the display, while others took pictures and some played. Now that is New Orleans style. Hope you enjoy it too. Let's see what happens for Mardi Gras.
