Five Generations

Five Generations

For the first time since Hurricane Katrina separated our family, all FIVE generations of the Smallwood-Millon-Gibson-Negret-Lucian-Cola family were able to share Mother's Day 2009 together. Our family matriarch, Alice Smallwood Millon, had lived in N.O. for all of her 81 years until that dreadful day in August, 2005. Now she and daughter, Brenda Gibson, reside in Houston TX, with granddaughter, Kimberlyn Gibson Negret, great-grandaughter, Taciana Negret Lucien, great-grandson, Reynaldo Negret, Jr., and great-great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Krystyn, and Caleb Lucien. Those remaining in New Orleans are granddaughters, Anniqua Gibson and Dr. Monique Gibson Cola, and great-grandchildren Courtney & Quentin Cola. Never had we imagined that the family would be separated and displaced from our beloved city. Displaced we were, and separated we remain, but we are thankful for this blessed reunion. Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful mothers in our family!
