Rachel Handley is a reporter and producer.
After spending most of her childhood in Northern California, Rachel followed her Cajun roots to Louisiana to attend LSU. She joined student media on a whim her junior year and fell in love with journalism. It was too late to change her comically unrelated Chemistry major, but that didn't deter her. She graduated, hung up her lab coat, then started as a producer at NBC 33 in Baton Rouge, two days later. She joined WWL-TV not long after that.
As a producer, Rachel has handled state politics, many severe weather events, including Hurricane Ida, the chaotic start of COVID-19, and the recent violent crime surge in New Orleans.
She first went on air part-time in 2022 and looks forward to telling more stories from the community she loves.
When she's not on TV or in the control room, you might find Rachel playing guitar, trying a new restaurant, or on a road trip.
