BATON ROUGE, La. — One of Louisiana's state-sanctioned medical marijuana growers is looking for workers.

Southern University announced that its agricultural center will be holding a job fair for its medical marijuana operation at an event Monday evening.

The school is looking for growing technicians, sales representatives and people to help pack and trim the medicinal-grade pot, among other positions. Applications also will be available for other expected upcoming jobs.

Louisiana's other producer, GB Sciences Louisiana, started dispensing medical marijuana in August. GB Sciences is Louisiana State University's hired grower.

Under Louisiana law, only the LSU and Southern agricultural centers are authorized to grow therapeutic cannabis.
