Smith tweeted out his phone number (256-508-9440) and said that anyone who qualifies should text him.

The Raising Men Lawn Care Service "provides free lawn care to our elders, those who are disabled, single mothers and our veterans, who do not have the time, resources and/or money to manicure their yards," according to the organization's website.

The service recruits children to join in lawn care and help their community in the process. There are eight chapters with 150 children who have joined to mow 2000 lawns across the country, the website said.

The company's mission statement says:

"Raising Men Lawn Care Service is designed to promote awareness for the youth of the future. It is a platform where the younger members of the community can give back to the community. This includes veterans, the elderly, the  disabled and even single mothers. They get the chance to offer services such as mowing lawns, shoveling snow, raking leaves and more, free of charge. The youths who we work with are able to experience a great sense of achievement while also developing their social skills and lawn care experience."

Smith will take his services across the state after his time in New Orleans. He'll head to Baton Rouge on Wednesday, Lafayette and Lake Charles on Thursday, Alexandria on Friday and then Shreveport on Saturday, according to the post.
