Police have identified a man and woman who stole a motorized scooter and cell phone from a 75-year-old military vet.
According to the Slidell Police Department, the 75-year-old victim went shopping at the Walmart on Natchez Driver on Nov. 15 around 5 p.m. and inadvertently left his motorized scooter and cellphone in the parking lot as he got back in his car and left.
Police say he quickly returned to the store after realizing he'd left them behind, but they'd both been stolen.
Surveillance video from the store showed a man and woman finding the scooter and cell phone and bringing it to customer service. The pair then shopped and left the store.
Slidell Police said they received several tips after the surveillance video was released and have issued arrest warrants for 56-year-old Karen Chetta Vaughter and 48-year-old William Roger Vaughter III for felony theft over $1,000.
The Vaughters were supposed to turn themselves into investigators Wednesday afternoon, however failed to do so.
The motorized scooter is valued at over $1,000 and is red and black. The cell phone is described to be a black Apple iPhone 6.
