Deputies say one man has died after a triple shooting in Marrero Sunday afternoon.
According to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, the shooting happened around 3 p.m. in the 6400 block of Rue Louis Phillippe. Three people were transported from the hospital with gunshot wounds. Investigators said two victims suffered life-threatening injuries.
Sheriff Joe Lopinto reports one of the victims, a 25-year-old man from Baton Rouge, died from his injuries. The other two victims are expected to survive.
Lopinto said investigators believe the three victims were involved in a failed drug purchase just before the shooting.
