Man shot in his leg in Gentilly, NOPD says

Police say the shooting happened just after 4 p.m. Monday afternoon

NEW ORLEANS — Police officers responded to a shooting call Monday afternoon and found a man shot in his leg in Gentilly, NOPD officials said. 

The initial NOPD report shows that around 4 p.m. Monday, police were called to the 2600 block of Dreaux Avenue, off Franklin Avenue in the Gentilly area. 

When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. He was treated at the scene by EMS. His current condition is not listed. 

The shooting victim is the latest of several in Orleans Parish in the past three days.

The investigation is open and ongoing, police said. No further details were available as of Monday evening.
