NEW ORLEANS — For the third time this week a woman has been shot and killed on New Orleans streets.
Friday night police responded to a shooting in the 2400 block of Allen Street and found a woman who had suffered at least one shot to the body. She was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
The shooting occurred around 9 p.m.
It was the third fatal shooting of a woman in the city of New Orleans this week and the ninth in the past six weeks.
On Memorial Day a 24-year-old woman was shot and killed in Algiers in the 1200 block of Casa Calvo. According to our partners at NOLA.com, the victim was identified as Chala Roberts, the mother of a seven-year-old child.
On Thursday night, a woman was shot and killed in the 3800 block of General Taylor in Broadmoor.
According to NOLA.com, 34-year-old Keisha Cherrie Gray, the mother of three children, was gunned down and the suspect is her boyfriend.
