NOPD: 63-year-old shot dead in area of Chef Menteur Highway

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police department is investigating a homicide in the Pines Village area of the 6000 block of Chef Menteur Highway on Monday night, according to a press release.

According to police, responding officers found a 63-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his body. He was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.

NOPD was notified about the incident at 9:58 p.m. Monday night.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim and conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
