NEW ORLEANS – An 18-year-old man has been arrested after police say he and another man forced their way into a home at gunpoint, struck one of the residents on the head with the gun and fired shots into a bedroom door where another victim was hiding.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight Saturday in the 400 block of Lakeshore Parkway.

Daniel Christiana was arrested early Thursday at a halfway house in Gonzales for attempted first-degree murder, attempted armed robbery, aggravated second-degree battery, aggravated burglary and illegal discharge of a firearm.

Police said a second white male was involved, but no information was available on him at the time.

According to police, Christiana and the other man arrived shortly after 1 a.m. at the residence. The men held the victims at gunpoint and demanded money. Before following them inside, striking one with a gun and firing the shots.
