NEW ORLEANS — The NOPD is investigating a shooting that killed one man and injured a woman Saturday morning in the 5200 block of Tchoupitoulas Street.
NOPD officials say the shooting occurred just before 3:30 a.m.. They arrived on the scene to find the two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
According to the investigation, the two victims entered a residence without permission. After an argument, the victims and the suspect shot at one another causing both victims to be hit.
Both victims were taken to the hospital via EMS, where the man would later die.
The shooting has been labeled a homicide, meaning investigators with the NOPD's homicide unit will lead the investigation.
