NEW ORLEANS -- A man accused of stealing $7,000 from a New Orleans casino led police on a chase down I-10 Thursday morning before his arrest.
According to Louisiana State Police, 33-year-old Eldridge Brown stole $7,000 in casino chips at an unidentified casino on Nov. 4. Police say he grabbed the chips off a table before running out of the casino and driving away.
This morning, troopers spotted a vehicle matching the get-away cars description with Brown inside and an unknown female passenger.
A fully-marked LSP unit attempted to stop Brown on I-10 near Bonnabel Blvd, but he tried to escape. Police say Brown led them on a chase down I-10 until he too the Louisa Street exit, where his vehicle got stuck in a muddy area.
Brown and his passenger, 31-year-old Marquise Alexander, were both arrested at the scene.
Brown was arrested for felony theft, reckless operation and flight from an officer. Alexander was booked on an outstanding warrant from Jefferson Parish.
This case remains under investigation.
