INDEPENDENCE, La. — Authorities say an Independence woman is dead and her boyfriend is in custody following a shooting in Tangipahoa Parish in the early morning hours on Tuesday.
Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office Chief Jimmy Travis said 40-year-old Shircreasia Madison was fatally shot during a domestic dispute with her live-in boyfriend, 28-year-old Eric Harrell of Amite, La.
The sheriff's office said Harrell was booked on second-degree murder, obstruction of justice and a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
The TPSO did not share additional details about the shooting or investigation.
