Washing your hands several times a day, especially after coming into contact with a lot of communal surfaces, is one of the best ways to avoid illnesses, according to the CDC.
Here are 5 tips that show you how to wash your hands the proper way:
- Wet your hands with clean, running water (hot or cold). Then turn off the water and apply soap.
- Lather your hands with the soap, making sure to get the backs of your hands, between your fingers and under your nails.
- Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds.
- Rinse your hands.
- Dry them using a clean towel or by air-drying.
