METAIRIE, La. — An employee at the Winn-Dixie grocery story in Metairie tested positive for COVID-19, according to a statement from Southeastern Grocers, the supermarket company the store.

The company says that employee is under quarantine and every precaution as been taken to make sure the store is clean and that other employees they may have come into contact with are healthy.

"We have followed all public health recommendations and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control," the statement from Southeastern Grocers says. "We will continue to offer the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in our stores."

According to the statement, the employee worked at the Winn-Dixie at 211 Veterans Memorial Boulevard and had not shown any symptoms.
