Clancy: Support police this Mardi Gras with Adopt-A-Cop

Without the blue, there would be no purple, green and gold.

NEW ORLEANS — While talking about Mardi Gras safety, what about the cops and deputies who will be keeping everyone safe this year?

That’s the topic of this week’s commentary by Eyewitness News Political Analyst and Gambit columnist Clancy DuBos.

While most of us are catching trinkets and enjoying king cake during Mardi Gras, hundreds of cops will be working long hours to keep us safe along parade routes. They deserve our thanks.

Here’s a great way to do that: Give $10 or more to the Adopt-A-Cop program. The program is sponsored annually by the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation. Your tax-deductible gift provides the Krewe in Blue with hot meals, healthy snacks and beverages during Carnival’s long days and nights.
