NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans voters will soon decide whether to renew more than six mills of existing property tax for public parks and recreation.
Parks and recreation facilities are vital to a community's quality of life.
That’s why it’s important for New Orleans voters to support the Parks and Rec millage. It’s the only item on the ballot May 4, that that’s the second Saturday of Jazz Fest. Turnout is going to be very low, so every vote counts
This is not a new tax. It renews 6.31 mills of existing tax. It would reallocate current revenues by giving less to Audubon Park, and much more to NORD, Parks & Parkways, and, for the first time ever, to City Park.
Early voting continues through Saturday. If you live in New Orleans, vote for Parks and Rec this week, and then enjoy Jazz Fest.
