HARVEY, La. - School officials say a record number of students in Jefferson Parish public schools have earned full scholarships to top universities across the country.

In a statement released Thursday, the Jefferson Parish Public School System says 17 students were awarded four-year, full tuition scholarships after the Posse Foundation announced its latest class of “Posse Scholars.”

JPPSS says the 17 students attended nine Jefferson Parish high schools including Bonnabel Magnet Academy, Haynes Academy, Helen Cox High, John Ehret High, Higgins High, Patrick F. Taylor Academy, Riverdale High, Thomas Jefferson High, and West Jefferson High.
