Property dispute turns into deadly triple shooting in Marrero, JPSO says

According to Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joe Lopinto, the three victims were found fatally shot inside a house in the 7800 block of Barataria Boulevard Friday night.

MARRERO, La. -- Two women and one man were killed in Marrero Friday night after a property dispute turned deadly.

According to Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joe Lopinto, the three victims were found fatally shot inside a house in the 7800 block of Barataria Boulevard Friday night.

Officials said a couple, 44-year-old Christopher Pike and 43-year-old Melissa Baous, came to the home to resolve a property dispute. The disagreement escalated with Pike shooting Tonia Dardar, 44, and Baous. Authorities said in the aftermath, Dardar's husband returned to the home, saw Pike and exchanged gunfire. Pike suffered fatal wounds and died on the scene.

Officials with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office said Dardar cooperated with investigators and provided a statement that was consistent with evidence collected. He was released pending further investigation.
