HOUMA, La. — Police are searching for three suspects who shot and injured a man Monday evening outside of a Houma residence.

The incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. on July 15 in the 900 block of Grinage Street, police said. Officers outside the Houma Police Department heard gunshots ring out and responded to the scene rapidly, authorities said.

Investigators learned three males circled the block on foot, police said. Authorities said the three suspects returned moments later and from behind a building began shooting at several people sitting outside a home.

One unidentified victim was struck in the side of the face by a bullet and the other victims took cover, Houma Police Lt. Jeff Lirette said in a news release. The suspects then fled on foot and remain at large, police said.

Through eyewitness accounts and recovered security video, investigators identified two of the three suspects as 18-year-old Neodrey Taplet and 18-year-old Keyron Simmons.

Taplet is wanted for attempted second-degree murder and Simmons is wanted for principal to second-degree murder, police said.

Lirette said both suspects are armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to submit an anonymous Crime Stoppers tip at 1-800-743-7433 or online at www.crimestoppersbr.org. Tips can also be submitted with the P3 Tips mobile application. Some Crime Stoppers tips could be eligible for a $1,000 cash reward if the information leads to an arrest.
