INDEPENDENCE, La. -- One man is dead after a wreck involving three cars early Thursday morning.
The crash happened just before 5:30 a.m. on LA308 south of US 90 in Raceland.
State Police said 28-year-old Jeremy McCarroll was driving south on LA308 in a 1998 Toyota pickup truck, when he crossed the center line and sideswiped a 2016 Chevrolet Sonic. McCarroll then hit a 2003 Ford truck head-on.
Troopers said he was brought to University Medical Center in New Orleans, but died from his injuries. They added that impairment is unknown at this time, and a toxicology report is pending.
State Police said this crash is still under investigation.
