Pedestrian dead after being struck by two cars in Houma

According to Louisiana State Police, the crash happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard just north of Hollywood Road.

HOUMA, La. — Troopers say a pedestrian is dead after being struck by two separate cars in Houma Sunday night.

According to Louisiana State Police, the crash happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard just north of Hollywood Road. Investigators say the pedestrian was trying to cross the road when he was struck by a a Toyota Corolla. He was then struck a second time by a Honda Accord that was following behind the Corolla.

Acadian Ambulance took the man to Terrebonne General Medical Center where he later died. LSP has not released the man's name at this time.

The drivers of both vehicles were wearing seatbelts and were not hurt.

State police say it is unknown if the pedestrian was impaired at the time of the crash. Toxicology tests are pending from the Terrebonne Parish Coroner's Office. The drivers of both vehicles gave breath samples that showed no alcohol present, troopers say.
