RACELAND, La. — The woman struck and killed by a semi-truck hauling a flatbed trailer in a parking lot Friday morning has been identified.

According to Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre, Laurie Arcement, 47, of Lockport was sitting on a semi-truck in the parking lot of the Raceland Truck Plaza on Louisiana Highway 1 around 6:10 a.m. Friday when Keith Landry, the driver, pulled away.

Deputies said surveillance video from the parking lot shows Arcement, who was sitting in between the truck's cab and trailer, fall to the ground as Landry, 58, began driving. The trailer then rolled over her, killing her at the scene, officials said.

Landry drove away from the scene and another truck driver called the police, officials said.

Investigators said they believe Landry, of Iowa, Louisiana, was unaware that Arcement was sitting on the truck and was struck. No criminal charges have been brought against him, officials said.

Deputies said impairment is not suspected in the accident, but a standard blood test was done on Landry and they are awaiting results.
