Multi-Millionaire: How to live your best life

"You're either working on someone else's financial goals or you are working on your own goals."

NEW ORLEANS - Nik Halik is used to being called crazy.

"If you are not being told you are too crazy on a daily basis, you are too mainstream," Halik claims.

And Halik is anything but mainstream. He's a multi-millionaire, thrill seeker, investor, and civilian astronaut. And he's all about working smart, not hard.

"You're either working on your own brand or somebody else's brand," Halik explains. You're either working on someone else's financial goals or you are working on your own goals."

Halik started thinking about his life goals when he was eight years old. He actually wrote them all down and made a list.

"Things like becoming an astronaut, living on a space station, running with the bulls in Spain," Halik says were all on the list.

He had a lot of time to dream.

Halik grew up in Australia and for first ten years of his life he was suffered with chronic allergies, debilitating asthma and couldn't leave his home. But once he was healthy enough to get out into the real world, Halik realized that being alone helped him think out of the box and create a unique path for himself.

"I wanted to liberate my parents and retire my parents, so at age 14 I had my first business. I sold it for $30,000 at age 17," Halik explains.

Halik used that money to move to Los Angeles. Halik was a rock star by night but investor by day.

Halik so passionate about being smart with money that he's written a book about it. It is called "5 Day Weekend: Freedom to Make Your Life and Work Rich with Purpose."

It's all about handling money in a way that frees people from the traditional 9 to 5 that makes many people feel trapped.

"Have you designed a life you don't need a vacation from?" asks Halik.

He has. Halik is a multi-millionaire but he's not into material things. For him. the money is just about having the freedom to create a life where he isn't tied to a job that makes him count the days to the weekend.
