NATALBANY, La. –Deputies announced the arrest Tuesday of a man they believe is connected to the shooting death of a teenager in June.
Antoine Schaffer, 22, of Hammond, has been charged with accessory to first-degree murder and obstruction of justice.
Deputies believe Schaffer is connected to the death of Marquise Lightfoot, 18, who was found in the yard of a man who woke up to feed his animals.
Lightfoot’s death was the third fatal shooting in two days during the beginning of June in the small town.
At the time of Schaffer’s arrest, deputies said he was under the supervision of state probation and parole for a 2013 attempted robbery conviction.
Schaffer’s mother and grandmother were also arrested. Both were booked with various charges, including obstruction of justice.
